** Weekly Support Sessions with Maria Andersen
On March 14, Almy Education offered a free live 90-minute webinar from Maria Andersen to help high school and college math teachers move their courses online due to school closures to reduce the spread of COVID-19. This webinar was a short term solution to support schools moving from face-to-face instruction to remote instruction, synchronously or asynchronously.
Designing and teaching a fully online class has differences from moving a course to remote instruction. There is much more involved to move all content, instruction, and interaction to an online modality. Maria Andersen is an expert at this and is offering a full day of live online workshops plus 4 weeks of mentoring to support teachers who will be teaching an online course or already do but want to increase engagement and improve outcomes.
The sessions are live and highly interactive. Sessions are one hour each with a 30 minute break in between them. They will not be recorded. Scroll down for session times and descriptions.
Maria specializes in highly interactive and hands-on sessions with all attendees. Experience peer-to-peer interaction and practical skills to use in your classroom from day one. Maria is an expert at teaching online and remotely. Her advice is specific and useful for math or science teachers and gets beyond broad techniques.
"This was a wonderful experience - I learned so much that I can implement in the next few weeks!"
Maria will be using the Zoom platform. You will receive log in instructions.

With the many cancellations of spring events and conferences, you may have professional development funds left over. Consider contacting your administrator and asking them to reimburse you for this course. Many administrators are very supportive of professional development like this, especially in the unique situation schools are facing now. We will provide you with a receipt to give to your school for reimbursement.
The tiered pricing applies to all 9 faculty. The more people who register, the greater discount all of them will get.
